Upgrading to Wordpress 2.5
Apr 22nd, 2008 by admin
So, it was a busy day today as I had to manage most of my websites and upgrade them as well. Many of the blogs which I own were running the old wordpress 2.2.1 version and have not been updated since last year but as I got some spare time today, I managed to do an upgrade of those blogs. Upgrading was not an easy process in each one of the blog as it took three times to update to the current version i.e. 2.5 .
At first the old version(2.2.1) was updated to a slightly newer version (2.3) which was again upgraded in some time to a wordpress 2.3.1 version and then , a small security patch to upgrade this blog to Wordpress 2.3.2. Still the work was not finished and then I had to finally upgrade this blog to Wordpress Version 2.5.
Now as a matter of fact, when I upgraded this blog from 2.2.1 to 2.5 , I thing which I did not enjoy was the backing up of database each time I had to upgrade this blog. Even though I did not have to upload all the files or plugins (All was in GoDaddy.com’s Hosting Connection) the time which Godaddy.com took to upgrade was slightly on the negative effects.
